Dr. Sangam Shrestha

Principal Investigator

sangamDr. Sangam is an Assistant Professor of Water Engineering and Management at AIT. He has been conducting research and teaching courses related to water engineering and management for more than 8 years. His research interest includes climate change and adaptation in water sector, integrated water resources management and groundwater development and management. He has several publications in peer-reviewed International journals and books. His recent publication includes “Kathmandu Valley Groundwater Outlook” which consists of findings of scientific research, experiences and opinions of concerned authorities and experts on groundwater of the Kathmandu Valley, Nepal.


Dr. Binaya Raj Shivakoti

Dr. Binaya has been working as a Water Resources Specialist at Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) since 2010. He has been conducting research on various water issues for more than 7 years. His research interest includes climate change and adaptation in water sector, sanitation and wastewater management and improving groundwater governance. He has been involved in knowledge sharing and networking activities of Asia Pacific Water Forum Regional Knowledge Hub for Groundwater Management which IGES has been mobilizing.


 Dr. Vishnu Prasad Pandey

Dr. Pandey is a faculty at Asian Institute of Technology and Management (AITM) in Nepal since July, 2013. Before joining AITM, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher in University of Yamanashi, Japan. Dr. Pandey, a recipient of several awards and fellowships, has author/co-author over two dozen of peer-reviewed papers (including book chapters). Groundwater development and management is one of the areas of his research interest. His groundwater-related publications include development of groundwater sustainability infrastructure index, evaluation of groundwater environment, and groundwater storage potential estimation, among others. He was also a co-editor of a recently published book titled “Kathmandu Valley Groundwater Outlook”.


Ms. Smriti Malla

Project Coordinator
